A spooky, theatrical Halloween takeover - transforming The Liberty into a Haunted Hotel with interactive characters and family-friendly fun.
Welcome to The Haunted Hotel… if you dare. This October half term, families checked in to a spooky stay at The Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford, where our ghostly bellhop and an ensemble of mysterious hotel residents came to life. From Mr Bones and the Spider Witch to the Potions Pixie and Countess Dracula, guests met the Haunted Hotel’s curious inhabitants, collected check-in stickers, and returned to the Bellhop Counter for a Trick or Treat reward. With character encounters, theatre, surprises and a frightfully fun competition, the experience delivered high engagement and kept little monsters smiling all week long.
What we delivered:
Concept, Story & Experience Design: A fully themed Haunted Hotel world designed for Halloween - complete with narrative flow, interactive touchpoints and a family-friendly spooky tone.
Character Creation & Casting: A lineup of memorable hotel residents including the Ghostly Bellhop, Mr Bones, the Spider Witch, the Potions Pixie and Countess Dracula - brought to life by professional performers.
Set Dressing & Theming: Hotel-style check-in stations, prop elements and atmospheric details that transformed the mall into an eerie Halloween environment.
Interactive Journey: Children “checked in” on arrival, collected stickers from each character encounter and returned for a Trick or Treat at the Bellhop Counter - encouraging movement and participation.
Performance Direction & Delivery: CEP managed rehearsals, scheduling, onsite performance flow and daily delivery across the full half-term period.
Impact: A standout seasonal activation that blended theatre, character interaction and retail engagement — driving footfall, smiles and strong social content for The Liberty.
