Establishing a Magical Annual Grotto That Anchors the Festive Calendar
CEP Agency launched Royal Grottos, a fully designed and managed festive experience in partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Set in Calverley Grounds, the immersive grotto invited families into a world of storytelling, workshops, and character encounters — creating joyful memories while boosting engagement, dwell time, and festive atmosphere across the site.
What we Delivered:
Design & Delivery: CEP Agency designed and built a fully immersive grotto, complete with structures like Mrs. Christmas’s Gingerbread Kitchen and Candy Cane Lane. We managed council liaison, supplier coordination, health & safety compliance, and logistics throughout.
Visitor Experience & Operations: We developed a seamless ticketing system to manage capacity and flow, while overseeing merchandise, gift shop stock, and workshop materials to support smooth retail operations.
Live Performance & Engagement: A cast of costumed performers — including Father Christmas, Mrs. Christmas, and cheerful elves — brought the experience to life with storytelling, character-led interactions, and joyful moments for families at every turn.
Creative Activities & Photo Keepsakes: Children enjoyed a festive story, gingerbread decorating, and reindeer food crafting before meeting Father Christmas. Each visit concluded with a memorable photo and the option to purchase gifts and keepsakes.
